Members Choice Credit Union transformed into a bustling fair ground on Saturday, April 20, 2024, as families and individuals gathered for a day filled with fun, learning, and community engagement at the Financial Family Fun Fair.
Attendees were greeted with a variety of activities and attractions designed to entertain, educate, and empower. The fair was filled with carnival games offering participants the chance to test their financial skills and win fantastic prizes.
One of the highlights of the event was the money machine, where lucky participants had the opportunity to step inside and grab flying bills as they swirled around and cash-in the fake bills they caught for real money!
But the fair wasn’t just about having fun—it was also a way to support our community. In partnership with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, the blood drive saw many generous donors stepping up to save lives, while the food drive garnered support for those in need, in partnership with Katy Christian Ministries a social service non-profit serving Katy/West Houston.
Additionally, attendees had the chance to securely dispose of their documents at the shred station, which helps keep personal information safe.
Families with budding entrepreneurs signed up their kids for Lemonade Day, where they get to run their own lemonade stand while learning about business ownership and handling money. Parents looking to set their children on the path to financial literacy also had the opportunity to open a checking account for their kids as a valuable teaching resource.
And for adults who are thinking about buying their first house, they received helpful tips and advice at a special seminar just for them.
Meanwhile, individuals eager to expand their financial knowledge found a wealth of information at the various booths scattered throughout the fairgrounds.
As the event wrapped up, attendees left the fair full of memories and with a deeper understanding of finance, all while enjoying a day of fun and community spirit.
