On Saturday, September 16, 2023, Members Choice Credit Union (MCCU) showcased its unwavering commitment to our community's heroes by serving as a sponsor of the Katy Area Safety Fest (KASF). This event provided an opportunity for our dedicated volunteers to come together and express our deep appreciation and gratitude for the men and women who selflessly serve our community.
KASF, is hosted annually at the Katy Mills Mall, and is a free and family-friendly festival that highlights the personnel, equipment, and activities of emergency response agencies dedicated to serving the Greater Katy community. The primary goal of KASF is to facilitate meaningful connections and conversations between community members and the courageous individuals who serve in these agencies. It also serves as a platform to provide valuable education and resources to enhance safety preparedness throughout the community. As event sponsors, we were honored to extend our support and express our heartfelt appreciation for their tireless efforts in safeguarding our community.
Despite encountering some rain during the event, our volunteers were all sunshine and smiles. We were excited to meet new friends, chat with some of our current members, provide financial guidance, and raise awareness about our Helping Heroes Savings Program—a unique initiative that extends special rates and discounts to those in heroic professions.
Visitors to our tent had the chance to spin our prize wheels for exciting giveaways. However, the true highlight of the day was the opportunity to step into our money machine. The first 25 visitors at the top of every hour were allowed to enter our money machine and grab as much money they could within the allotted time. It was exciting to witness so many individuals walk away with smiles on their faces, and we were thrilled to give away over $3,000 in total!
At MCCU, our dedication to our community's heroes is demonstrated through our Helping Heroes Savings Program, which offers substantial loan rate discounts and higher yield savings to a wide range of heroic professions, including teachers, administrative staff, doctors, nurses, active military personnel, veterans, firefighters, first responders, and police officers.
For us, our sponsorship of KASF and our Helping Heroes Savings Program are our way of reciprocating the kindness shown by our community heroes. It's our turn to say thank you and honor these extraordinary individuals who are instrumental in uniting and strengthening our community.
